Transactional Analysis (TA) Driver Behaviour – Working Styles
There are 5 TA Drivers that shape our everyday responses. This survey aims to identify which Driver behaviours you have.
In the real world people rarely fit into the neat boxes we finish up with when we simplify models such as Drivers for ease of use. Few of us will show all of the characteristics of one style only, with no sign of the others. Most of us will find that we relate most to one or two of the styles. We will recognise aspects of the other Driver behaviours in our styles, but they will not be as significant for us. We will also be able to think of a few people who are the epitome of a style and others who represent a combination.
These Driver behaviours could include sulking, tantrums, withdrawing and other styles to gain acceptance, recognition and attention. It was part of the natural conditioning of being accepted and approved in early life. In later life, we continue to exhibit these Drivers although they are no longer appropriate. Each of the Drivers has strong points and also allowable weaknesses.
